From Mel's owners [September 2009], along with 2 new great photos: "Hi everyone at Halkida dog shelter
We adopted one of your dogs that came over with Sarah from GAR in June. His name is Melvin (but I think he was known as Melanie when he was at the shelter). I have attached a copy of photographs of him. He has really settled in well and is a lovely dog. He loves his walks and certainly enjoys his dinner.
Thank you all so much for the hard work you do. I will get a photo taken with the family to put on the other website.

From one of Mel's rescuers: "POOR LOVELY LAID BACK MEL SPENT HIS WHOLE TIME AT THE SHELTER BEING CALLED
MELANIE, BUT AFTER BEING PREPARED TO COME TO [HIS NEW HOME] IT TURNED OUT HE WAS
ACTUALLY A MELVIN!!! IT DOESN'T SEEM TO HAVE DONE HIM ANY HARM THOUGH!! A
VERY VERY LAID BACK BOY WHO IS ENJOYING THE QUIET LIFE AWAY FROM THE
SHELTER. SOME DAYS HE CHOOSES TO DO A LONG WALK, THE NEXT DAY HE CHOOSES TO
DO ONLY A SHORT WALK, WHATEVER HE CHOOSES IS FINE BY HIS NEW DAD, MARTIN, AND
HIS WIFE, WHO ABSOLUTELY ADORE HIM.
