As many other dogs here at Halkida Animal Shelter, I was a stray dog. I didn’t like my life since all I did was looking to food and water. Especially the summers were very unpleasant since it was hard to find water, the heat was draining my energy, and the food I found often was rotten. One night I was about to cross a big road, when I was hit by a car. The accident hurt my paw badly and my body was trembling from the traumatic experience. I don’t know for how long I was lying by the road side. It could have been hours or days. I had given up hope for anyone to notice me as car after car just passed and disappeared in the horizon. Then finally a car stopped, and they drove me to the shelter where I was taken care of. At present, I get medication two times a day since I am suffering from Leishmania, and even though my paw never fully recovered I am more than able to play around with my friends.
